Today I’m creating an intuitive pink & green flower painting filled with flowing leaves, soft lines and lots of layers.
I started with several shades of green and no real plan. I simply added the colors to the canvas and followed the shapes that appeared. Then I brought in quinacridone magenta and permanent violet dark and suddenly, a gorgeous flower started to grow.
Not every brushstroke worked immediately. Some parts became messy, one leaf looked terrible… but I kept going. That is something I’ve really learned over the past year: how to fix things without losing the flow of the painting.
Sometimes an intuitive painting simply needs a little trust and a willingness to paint over the questionable bits. 😂
