The Moment were among the leading bands of the 1980's UK Mod Revival, described retrospectively by Paul Moody of the NME as "English pop music's greatest ever secret"
Formed in Haverhill, Suffolk, in 1983. The Moment were fronted by the singer/songwriter Adrian Holder, releasing a series of singles, including "In This Town" (1984), "One, Two They Fly" (1985) and "Ready To Fall" (1988). They released one album, The Work Gets Done, in 1985. Sticks And Stones, a track released on the Countdown Compilation album in 1986 saw The Moment described by British Music paper Melody Maker as sounding "like The Jam wanting to be The Clash. While their influences did indeed include the best of British Mod and Punk, they also drew their inspiration from The Beatles, Northern Soul and Classic Rock.
The Moment were managed by UK music journalist Chris Hunt. They toured extensively in Germany where they maintained a cult following until their split in 1990. All of their vinyl recordings, and their unreleased final single, were collected together as Mod Gods: The Best Of The Moment by Tangerine Records in 1996.
The Moment worked with several record producers during their career. Cult musicians Paul Bevoir and Edward Ball shared the production duties on the album "The Work Gets Done" (Rave, 1985). Paul Bultitude was responsible for "Poor Mr Diamond" (Big Stuff, 1988), while "Sticks And Stones" (Countdown, 1986) was produced by Pat Collier and Will Birch. Their later material was in the hands of Ian Shaw, who also engineered all their recordings from 1985 onwards.
In 2009, The Moment played live dates in the UK and Germany with Ben Addison (Corduroy) completing the line-up. They went on to release a "7" single and a CD mini album in 2013. Later that year, Ben was replaced with Brett "Buddy" Ascott (The Chords) on drums and the band played a mini tour of the UK in the Summer of 2014.

One of the founding fathers of the British blues movement, Graham Bond released two spectacular albums in 1965 as the Graham Bond Organization. The Sound of 65 and Theres a Bond Between Us (also re-released on BGO Records) are essential jazz/blues albums for any music fan. When Bond broke up the Organization, he moved to the United States where he recorded two solo albums in 1965. In 1966, he returned to England where he became a member of Ginger Bakers Air Force for a time then left and formed the band Magick with his wife Diane Stewart. Holy Magick, the bands debut album, was originally released on the progressive Vertigo label in 1970 . The album was based on Bonds interest in white magic and Druid and Celtic mysticism. Holy Magick consists of two parts containing 18 songs based around mantras, rituals, and improvisational pieces. The band, a flexible unit, featured some of the top musicians Britain had to offer in 1970 including Rick Gretch (Blind Faith), Victor Bronx, Alex Dmochowski, Jon Moreshead from the Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation, and a host of session performers. While barely accessible to a rock audience, this album has been both dismissed and praised by critics and fans, depending on ones musical taste. The music was very much jazz oriented. When it was originally released it did not sell well and became a collectors item.
