June 12th, Loving Day, honors the 1967 Supreme Court decision that made interracial marriage legal across the U.S. But in 1886, nearly 100 years earlier, Jeremiah Patterson and Lydia Gaylord were already living that truth in Red Wing, Minnesota. Their legacy reminds us that interracial love has always existed in the U.S., and so has the courage to live it out loud
