This animation shows the structure of our home galaxy, the Milky Way. The flat disk containing the spiral arms is actually warped, distorted likely due to gravitational interactions with neighboring galaxies. This animation is based on observations of Cepheid variable stars, a special kind of star where the distance can be found accurately. The Sun's position is marked by the yellow "sun" symbol.

![What happens if you expose a Peep to vacuum?

Recorded at the Texas A&M Universitys Physics and Engineering Festival in March 2014. http://physicsfestival.tamu.edu/
[Note: I know, I held the phone vertically while recording this. I had to; there were kids around and I didnt want them in the video to protect their privacy.] What happens if you expose a Peep to vacuum?](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/UEetdatpUO0/mqdefault.jpg)
