There were a lot of letters in the MG XPower SV’s name, and almost all of them were invented by MG’s new management to convince the buying public they were definitely, truly, serious about making highly tuned sports cars. The SV was on the face of it an astute business decision to release an exclusive MG sports car and get cash flowing into MG Rover’s bank account. But now it’s an almost forgotten footnote in Anglo Italian engineering. So just where did this car come from? And why did it disappear almost as quickly?
