A letter has been found that the defense claims was written in 1988 prior to the 1989 murder by the Lyle and Erik Menendez of their parents Jose and Kitty. The letter includes a statement by Erik of the alleged sexual abuse by his father that appears to be ongoing at the time.

If the letter is legitimate, does this further support of sexual abuse by Jose Menendez justify the shooting of the parents when both boys were adults and able to leave the family home and live on their own?
