Carcharodon Megalodon, sometimes called Carcharocles Megalodon, was a colossal shark that died out about 1.5 million years ago. At maximum lengths of up to 20 meters, it dwarfed modern Great Whites. Megalodon was the largest shark ever known, and ruled the ancient ocean. With teeth as large as a man's hand, Megalodon ate whales and other marine mammals. It was the apex predator of its day, and one of the largest carnivorous creatures the Earth's oceans has even seen. Thankfully, it's not around today. Or is it?
