Tavarish McLaren P1 rebuild started with one of the strangest hypercar stories ever. After Hurricane Ian flooded Florida, a Volcano Yellow McLaren P1 worth over $1 million was swept out of its garage and somehow ended up sitting on a toilet in the middle of a flooded street.
That viral photo led to a salvage auction where Freddy “Tavarish” Hernandez bought the flood-damaged McLaren P1 for $575,000 from Copart.
But the project quickly turned into something far bigger than a normal supercar rebuild. The hybrid system was removed, the target power is now over 1,400 horsepower, and the goal is to turn the car into a one-off P1 Evo capable of chasing 260 mph.
