Random geometry isn't a traditional, well-bounded discipline — it's young, rapidly evolving, and inherently cross-disciplinary. At the Infosys Random Geometry Centre at TIFR, mathematicians are finding the shared structure underneath seemingly unrelated objects: fractals from SLE curves, Brownian laminations, and conformal dynamics, all sharing certain universality properties.

The Centre grew out of informal canteen conversations among a small group at TIFR's School of Mathematics, and has since hosted joint meetings with the London Mathematical Society and TIFR's flagship International Colloquium — strengthening India's presence in cutting-edge mathematics while staying deeply connected to the global research community.
