I think the Razor Crest from the Mandalorian is one of the coolest Star Wars ship designs to come out in a long time, and I wanted to see if I could get one to fly. This build proved quite difficult initially, using my usual equipment. Fortunately the E-Flite Ultrix was recently released, which has a flight controller that is perfectly matched to my differential thrust micro builds. Using the yaw damping supported by this board, I was able to get the Razor Crest flying without the need for additional vertical fins. The whole builds is 3mm Depron, painted with Tamiya rattle cans. The nacelles are constructed as hoops, so that they contribute to the limited lifting area that's available. This, combined with the low mass of about 55grams, lets it fly at reasonably level attitudes, without always hanging on the prop. The Ultrix electronics are a game changer, and I foresee using them in a lot of my future builds.
As with all my builds, this is strictly for fun. I do not intend to sell any sort of kit based on this project, although I will be glad to answer questions about the build, and help anyone who is interested create their own. Do not upload my content as your own, and please provide proper attribution if you are sharing it. RC planes are not toys.
