For the Berliner Barock Solisten, The Four Seasons hold a special place in the ensemble’s own history. They were the first works the ensemble recorded with its founding member and then concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker, Rainer Kussmaul, 30 years ago. Now, the ensemble returns to Vivaldi’s cycle in a new recording with Daishin Kashimoto, 1st concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker. This interview takes us behind-the-scenes in the recording studio.
