At 46, my approach to makeup has become simpler, more intentional and much more about enhancing healthy skin than covering it up.
In this video, I'm sharing my everyday makeup routine and some of my favourite affordable, good-quality beauty products for creating the fresh, healthy and natural look that I love.
As a busy working mum navigating my 40s and perimenopause, I don't want a complicated beauty routine. I want products that are easy to apply, feel beautiful on my skin and — most importantly — stay put. Once my makeup is on and I'm happy with it, I'm out the door and I really don't want to think about it again until I wash it off at the end of the day!
But I do love those few minutes in the morning when I apply it.
For me, doing my hair and makeup has become a small ritual of self-love and care. A few quiet minutes to look after myself, feel polished and ready for whatever the day holds.
These days, I'm also far more interested in investing my time and money into the health of my skin and hair than accumulating endless makeup products. I don't like owning multiples of the same thing, buying products I'll rarely use or having drawers overflowing with beauty products. To me, that simply feels like clutter, wasted money and wasted product.
Instead, I'd rather find a smaller number of good-quality, hardworking products that I genuinely enjoy, use regularly and can apply quickly and easily.
