When I started reviewing lasers a few years ago, this was the sort of machine that I dreamed of owning someday.
The GWeike MCore combines a 400W fiber laser for metal cutting with an 80W CO₂ laser for wood, acrylic, plastics and other non-metal materials, bringing industrial fabrication capabilities into a workshop-sized package.
As someone who builds custom electric vehicles and prototypes, I've spent countless hours cutting, grinding and finishing parts by hand. A machine like this has the potential to completely transform my workflow by allowing me to go directly from CAD design to production-quality components in minutes.
In this video I take a first look at the MCore and put it through a variety of real-world tests, including:
• 2.7mm carbon steel cutting
• 5.7mm carbon steel cutting
• Complex logo cutting
• 3mm birch plywood cutting
• 3mm acrylic cutting
• CO₂ laser engraving tests
• MLaser NexCut software overview
• Machine workflow demonstration
I also discuss the machine's specifications, features, capabilities and limitations after spending time learning how it operates in a real workshop environment.
