Text by Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus (Roman Emperor, 161 to 180 A.D.), the last of the "Five Good Emperors." Known as the "philosopher king," Marcus Aurelius believed the universe & everything in it is interconnected & had ONE substance & ONE soul - the thought that all apparent differences, divisions, & distinctions between people were conceived by humankind alone, & completely counter to harmonious existence. Marcus Aurelius formulated thoughts on nature, leadership, infinity & human behavior in personal journals. The text of THE LOVE OF TRUTH is paraphrased from one of those journals.
