Victoria once had hundreds of tramways and light railways meandering up through forests, mountains and valleys. Many of these were built for logging up the high mountains of the Victorian Alps and Yarra Ranges.

One of the most famous was the Powelltown Tramway. In this first video of the two part series, we look at this fascinating chapter in Victoria's history.
