My new album, 'The Lost Birds'--a collaboration with the celebrated British vocal ensemble @VOCES8 and the @royalphilorchestra--comes out tomorrow!
'The Lost Birds' is an extinction elegy--a memorial for the bird species that have been driven to extinction by human activity. Using the words of four 19th-century poets--Emily Dickinson, Christina Rossetti, Sara Teasdale, and Edna St. Vincent Millay--I constructed a story that tells of the gradual disappearance of birds, and how their loss foreshadows our own eventual extinction.
