In 2002, after the release of Fellowship in the Ring, hype for the 2nd chapter was at an all time high, EA claimed the exclusive rights to make games based off the movies, and to go alongside the release of the 2nd chapter, they released a movie tie-in game that would become a cult classic.

Developed by Stormfront Studios, The Two Towers is a hack and slash action game that was only available on console. It allows you to play through the events of both Fellowship and Two Towers as Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli, all voiced by the actors from the movies. You can also play as Isildur once you beat some bonus content and during the tutorial.

It features some amazingly seamless transitions from movie footage into cutscenes, tons of BTS media from the films (including interviews with the actors,) bonus levels, and some brutally hard levels that will leave you stuck for hours on end.

If you're wondering why there's a lot of cuts and some parts have Isildur unlocked and others don't, I played through the game first as solely Aragorn, but then decided to go back a re-record some levels as Legolas and Gimli so the video would be more varied. Didn't do it on a different save because I needed to level them up regardless for the bonus content.
