In this video we’ll be putting the notorious, atheist, 20th century French Psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan in dialogue with several seemingly disparate figures- St. Basil the Great, St. Gregory Palamas, Pavel Florensky and Vladimir Lossky.- all under the rubric of the Logos expressed in the work of Martin Heidegger and the aforementioned Orthodox thinkers. Let’s see what emerges. I’ll be reading and pulling from a 1986 essay by Lila Kalinich from St. Vladimir’s Theological Quarterly titled, “Logos in Lacan”.
