The VHS print date is August 29, 1988.

Sadly, this is the best digitized recording i can get out of the first 5 minutes, it's a bit better than previous attempts.
On the first 5 minutes, the first 2 minutes and 10 seconds have insane amounts of tracking damage, and a lot of tracking damage in the last 30 seconds.
This Australian ex-rental VHS tape has MEGA tracking issues in the first 15 minutes of tape. Unfortunately, I can't find another Australian Disney VHS copy of Escape from the Dark for many months to this day.
It's a huge shame and i wish that these 1980s international Disney VHS tapes are far easier to find and purchase on ebay and facebook than in 2026.

As far as I know, this is the first Australian Disney VHS that uses the Sorcerer Mickey Walt Disney Home Video logo for the first time ever.
