Did you know that Linux has the ability to communicate with space stations? That's what AX.25, a layer 2 protocol, is used for, and in this video, I discuss the history of AX.25, it's use on early TCP/IP networks, how it used to make terristal contacts via amateur radio on Earth, and then use it to communicate with the International Space Station. This is a project anyone with a basic Amateur Radio license can use to route network traffic between nodes, including space stations in Low Earth Orbit.
