The limiter setting that stops your master distorting.
When you turn up a limiter, the track gets louder but crushed, and because louder always sounds better to your ears, it's almost impossible to hear the exact point where the distortion creeps in.
The fix is the 1:1 button. It keeps the output level the same while you add gain, so all you hear is the effect of the limiting. Push the gain like normal and you'll hear the precise moment the distortion starts. That's your sweet spot. Stop there, release the 1:1 button, and the output jumps back up. Loud and clean.
