The Life of a Tone Model — Must-Know ToneX Info From Creation to Sharing
There’s still a lot of confusion about how Tone Models and Presets actually work inside IK Multimedia’s ToneX ecosystem. So in this video, we’re going to clear it up once and for all by walking through the entire journey of a Tone Model — from the moment it finishes training to the point it becomes a shareable preset.
We’ll start right at the Finalization stage inside the Tone Modeler app, then jump into the ToneX Player to see where that model appears, what it means when all FX are off and controls are set to 5.0, and how you can turn a raw Tone Model into a saved Preset with EQ, reverb, delay, or other effects.
We’ll also talk about the two ways Tone Models are shared — via ToneNet uploads (raw Tone Models only) and .txp Preset files (which may include tweaks or IRs).
Finally, we’ll clear up one of the biggest misunderstandings: sharing a DI Tone Model that includes an IR in the preset doesn’t change the underlying Tone Model itself.
