Two actors continuously onstage. A man carries a woman. A law of physics which becomes a dramatic game: she must not touch the ground. This is a story of love in a time of war. Louis is a soldier. On a Christmas night, under the snow at Stalingrad, he writes one last letter to his wife Marie, to tell her that he is about to die. "Marie, I am writing this letter even though I wrote to you yesterday. So much has happened that it is time for me to say adieu. I am not going to come home anymore, Marie, and yet the only things standing between us are space and time."
The metaphor is clear throughout this variation on the theme of carrying: the young man carrying the weight of the absence of his beloved.
