Maybe I was close to discovering how to get to the boss here, but it could also take a while, so I'm going to play it safe for now and stop at getting the big key. This place is quite disorienting to say the least.

The final boss for Knuckles story is a bit underwhelming. I tried tilting the ship in all four directions looking for the final emerald piece, but the neutral position ended up being the correct one. Figures.")
