I am, unapologetically, a Link to the past Fanboy. This is my favorite Zelda game, and would make my top five favorite games of all time. This game defined the Snes to me, personally. I want to say it was '94 or '95 when my brother and I borrowed my neighbor's Snes and his copy of LTTP, letting him borrow our Sega Genesis as a trade. This was the game that finally made us decide we needed a Snes. The Snes we bought actually came bundled with Link to the Past, not Super Mario World. I had played a lot of Snes prior, as all my friends had one, with Super Mario World. As great as Super Mario World, and other games we had played on the system previously were, it was Link to the Past that made us want a Snes. If not for this game, we wouldn't have also discovered 16-bit Squaresoft RPGs either. So many great memories are associated with this game for me. Not just the fact that it's one of my favorite games of all time, but it opened the door to an exciting new console to me. I love the Genesis, and I love the Snes, and without Link to the past, I would never have played Final Fantasy VI which is still my favorite game of all time. I love LTTP.
