The Legend of Dragoon

The party rushes in to take on Melbu Frahma, after he takes Shana's place to become the embodiment of the God of Destruction.

Get ready for one of the longest end boss fights I have ever experienced in an RPG. The final boss of this game has not two, not three, but four forms we have to deal with.
This battle doesn't last long because it's difficult, but the transformations and the boss' attacks take so dang long it becomes a chore in the final stages.

The first form of the boss has four tentacles that you can deal with quickly with Magic Items or Psych Bomb X. I'd recommend doing this as soon as possible since it'll make the fight go a bit smoother. Don't use your buffs or debuffs on the boss yet, though, save those for the last form.
Also, go ahead and use your Dragoon forms whenever you get one, and don't bother saving up SP, you'll see why as the battle progresses.

His second form isn't all that bad, however he will use an annoying attack where he will absorb one of your party members for a few turns and then fire them out at another member dealing a hefty amount of damage. Just be sure to heal up if/when this happens.

Once you make it to the third form it will have two modes. When its 'night' the boss will use a lot of it's most damaging skills, but when it's 'day' it won't do much. It will also summon four orbs which will explode after so many turns and deal some decent damage to the whole party, but as long as you keep an eye on your health you should be fine. Also if you need to, use Moon Serenades to recover your MP when you run low. It's the final battle so no point in stockpiling them anymore.

The fourth and final form is an annoyance more than anything. It will almost always use an attack that will inflict confusion on your team as soon as it enters this form (which I completely forgot about and didn't equip anyone for that...thankfully I was able to last long enough to recover from it.)
It will also summon a couple of minions as well, which, when they are killed will use an instant KO attack, so be careful of that.
One final thing to watch out for is when it retracts it's tail. When it does this it has the same effect as the Dragon Block Staff, and this is why I told you not to bother saving up SP earlier on, if you're in dragoon form for more than one or two turns that character is likely to get wrecked.
Since this is the final form of the boss let loose with all your Buffs and Debuffs, give the boss no quarter. When Dart transforms into the Divine Dragoon on his own (even with no SP...) the battle is over.
Watch the scenes as the game comes to a close.

And that will do it for The Legend of Dragoon. A hidden little gem of a game I was fortunate enough to get when it was first released.
I hope you enjoyed the walkthrough as much as I enjoyed making it, and if you really enjoyed it check out my other videos and subscribe if you are interested. I have plenty of other games planned to play through in the future.

I'll catch everyone in the next walkthrough.
