KEY NOTE: NONE of us believe or think that torment is “necessary” to evolve in consciousness. (Whether we are Gnostic or LDS) Pleasure alone achieves that! Besides, we were and are already COMPLETE in consciousness eternally ! That is a main point !
However we believe torment when imposed builds ENDURANCE of the consciousness in the after death state, IF we are exposed to it. Thus causing consciousness evolution IN THAT WAY.
SPECIFICALLY ON BEHALF OF OTHER BEINGS WHO DESPERATELY NEED OUR HELP.
The fact is most beings PREFER to never face torment for solidly legitimate reasons, especially me. That is a HUGE point and factor in LDS Gnostic views!
We either “came” here by genuine agreement ONLY for the above stated reasons and none other OR were tricked OR were forcefully put in this world against our will.
All 3 possibilities would have been because we desired to be far better combatants against impositional reality ever more going forward. Vs. only remaining in our individual pleasure bubbles as ineffective combatants unable to help others.
