With 40 shrimp tanks, carrying buckets had turned water changes into a back-breaking job. In this video I show the system I built around a 200-litre preparation vat, RO tubing, a 12V transfer pump, timers and float valves so I can drain tanks directly and refill them with prepared water.
You’ll see how the setup works, why the pump sits above the heater, how each tank stops filling automatically, and how I handle remineralisation. This can be adapted for one aquarium or a larger shrimp room, but always test every valve and connection and keep heaters safely submerged.
