The Last Time This Railroad Crossing was Activated on the CSX Homestead Subdivision was right after Hurricane Irma when a debris on the track caused a malfunction and it was activated for the first time in years ,but sadly that was the last time this crossing would see any action as CSX officially filed for abandonment of this track. This track South of Gold Coast Railroad Museum is now abandoned and no longer out of service or unused. It was an original Seaboard Air Line built in 1926 for Passenger trains and tourism to Homestead, Florida at the time.
