Gathered around the table of the Passover meal with his disciples, Jesus’ betrayal was only hours away. As he lifted the cup he said it was His blood poured out, on purpose, for sinners like you and me. Each time we share in the Lord’s Supper we look back to that night and forward to the day we feast with him at the wedding supper of the Lamb. The new covenant has been secured through his death and we are fully and forever forgiven. What mercy!

Broken like bread, poured out like wine
We sing what a wonderful Savior
