The Last Stand II takes place after the helicopter crash from the first game. This time you're a few cities away from Union City, the military safe point. That's what you were headed before the crash!
You have to choose your paths wisely. High population has more of everything! More supplies, more weapons, but also more zombies. Lower population has less, so you might want to take a trip to one of those if you're having a tough time.
Some locations also have their own unique weapons, like the bow and arrows. Two playthroughs is ideal to see everything there is and to see the difference in difficulties.
