The Last of Us Part 1 coming to PC should be a joyous occasion. Surely, more people having access to one of the most important games of the 21st century is a good thing. Unfortunately the experience has been pretty miserable: even if you have a high-end machine, performance is middling, and the incessant hard-crashing makes it a slog. And, truth be told, the higher graphical fidelity on offer isn't enough of a leap to make it worth persevering with. If you have a PS5, you're better off sticking with that version. And honestly, if you have a PS4, even? The remastered original is a less frustrating experience. Our recommendation is to avoid, but we'll check back next week to see if the patches have made a significant difference.
