Netflix just dropped The Last House, their latest high-concept sci-fi thriller, and once again the woke pattern is impossible to ignore.
A suburban American family gets sealed inside their home during a mysterious global catastrophe. The story is pure survival drama — dwindling resources, rising tension, parents trying to protect their kids. On paper it could have been anyone. In practice, Netflix cast it with zero white leads. Greta Lee and Wagner Moura play the parents. The kids are played by Asian and mixed actors. The “default” American family in the middle of an apocalypse is once again not white.
This isn’t about the performances. The problem is the deliberate woke casting pattern. Hollywood and Netflix keep greenlighting stories that could easily feature white families… and then don’t. When the rare white family does appear, they’re usually the problem, the villains, or the ones who need to be educated. Meanwhile every other group gets to be the protagonists of ordinary human stories without it being treated as a political statement.
The Last House is just the newest example of Netflix’s ongoing woke agenda. Same formula, different packaging. I’ll break down the casting choices, the messaging, and why this keeps happening.
Timestamps coming once the video is fully edited.
