The Ford Excursion has long been the biggest SUV ever made - an American icon. Many an 80s/90s kid has fond memories of road trips in their parents' Ford Excursion (probably more had memories in a Suburban, but who's keeping score). They've had a resurgence in popularity it seems in recent years, due to their... practicality as wild as that sounds. So many of them are still running on the road today, some even passing a million miles. Still putting in work, still making smiles. The wild thing is that modern SUVs have finally caught up to the Ford Excursion in size, so it doesn't seem so massive anymore. It still competes (and wins) in a lot of areas though - reliability, interior volume, towing capacity, how easy they are to mod and maintain, and a cult-like following. I've wanted a Ford Excursion for years, and well now... I finally have one.
