The Crimson project is designed solely around landing a small *unmanned* capsule on the surface of Duna. However the secondary goal of studying Ike and Duna from orbit remains significant. Instead of sending up two types of crafts, KSC caved in under pressure and brought out the duct tape. After a two week observation mission the finale for Crimson is entering Duna's atmosphere and coming to a halt, preferably not in an explosion.

*Unmanned meaning it is piloted by computers, flown by computers, and landed by computers. However the Kerbal aboard is basically ballast and his only job is to make sure the software runs correctly. Objections? He signed the deal so I OWN HIM.
