The invisible turn-over pass also known as the Hermann Pass is one of the best card control sleight of hand moves in card magic. It seems to go back to Johann Nepomuk Hofzinser (1806-1875), but it was early mentioned in the book New Era Card Tricks by Roterberg (1897) as the Herrmann Pass in reference to Alexander Herrmann the Great. (1844-1896) It´s one of the most practical card controls in card magic, because under cover of turning the deck over the shift of the packages becomes invisible. In the book Expert Card Technique it is therefore introduced as the Invisible turn-over Pass.
