Join Cassie and James as we brainstorm what I'm calling "the intersection of magic and science" as we reconcile how those two things can live next to each other.

In worlds where fire can be created from nothing (like Igni in Witcher or the fire plasmid in Bioshock, fire bending in Avatar), wouldn’t that break the so called laws of nature? And could that be abused? Are there limits to that? What is the science of magic called?

In Legend of Korra, some benders work, shooting lightning for hours to power the city. It’s like a more efficient version of a person standing there cranking a wheel all day. This is a world where they have “magic” but it has limits. Is it only magic until we understand it?

Where do these two concepts meet? Is there a study of magic? Is that study of magic a science? We will touch on these and many more concepts. Come join us and chat!
