Over 300 makers, artists, designers, engineers and students from all across America took part in the 2014 3D Printed Ornament Design Challenge. Ornaments were brought to life in the world class creative studio at Autodesk Pier 9 workshop.

Starting today, a selection of the winning designs can be seen in the East Wing of the White House as part of the holiday festivities as well as on the Smithsonian’s state of the art 3D data platform, 3d.si.edu.

After the holiday season, the ornaments will join a small collection of White House ornaments in the political history division of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.
