Prophet of Zod | The Inherent Danger of Christianity | Why Christianity Can't Excuse Itself from Greg Locke (pt 2/2) @ProphetofZod | Uploaded March 2022 | Updated October 2024, 10 minutes ago.
Apologists have many strategies for trying to overlook the dangers of Christianity. I typically see this boil down to two strategies. First is dismissing horrors done by the religion as the actions of imperfect people just acting in the name of Christianity or even entirely false Christian. Second is tallying up every possible good deed that they can ascribe to Christianity, as if to show that on the balance it did more good than harm. In this second video on why Christianity can't disown Greg Locke, I show that not only are these strategies inaccurate, but they completely miss the point. The question is not how much good or bad has been done under the name of Christianity, but HOW Christianity guides people toward constructive and humane behavior. And since its mechanism for doing this is wildly unpredictable, it is inherently dangerous by nature, regardless of whatever good it's done at some points in history, and regardless of whatever excuses apologists can make for the bad it's done at other points in history.
