The Indian Railways is trying out TRI-NETRA system to reduce accidents  @Factordaily

The Indian Railways is conducting trials of a new technology called ‘TRI-NETRA’ which should help reduce the high number of railway accidents in India. The system uses technologies like infrared cameras and radar-assisted systems to enhance visibility of loco pilots during bad weathers, spot obstructions on track and avert accidents.
