Jon Rahm Childhood And Golf Interest

Born on Nov 10,1994, in a small coastal town Barrika Spain. Jon Rahm Rodríguez was always interested in sports from a young age. Edorta Rahm, his father was from Basque, while his mother, Ángela Rodríguez, was from Madrid. Jon Rahm started playing golf even before he was seven years. Outside of golf during his childhood days his other interests were Jai Alai, Soccer, Kung Fu, Until the age of 14 years, Rahm had not decided to make golf his career. It was only later that he decided he had a passion for golf and concentrated on his golfing career.

Both Edorta and Ángela, his parents, started encouraging Jon Rahm to concentrate on his golfing career as they were very fond of the sport. They started admiring the sport after watching the Ryder Cup 1997 in Valderrama. And they began to introduce golf to their children too.

Jon Rahm attended high school in Madrid, Spain, and won numerous European golf games such as the Jacques Léglise Trophy in 2011 and Bonallack Trophy in 2012.

Later in 2012, his father convinced Rahm to apply for a college in the US to improve his career prospects. This resulting in Jon moving to Arizona State University after being recruited by golf trainer Tim Mickelson. It was here that he also received a golf scholarship. This was at the time when Jon received his first amateur golfer award from Ben Hogan for two successive years in 2015 and 16. And he was ranked as the number one amateur golfer in the world of golf.
