The Waitaki Hydro Scheme is an incredible piece of engineering. And almost a century since its beginnings, it's still providing power for Kiwi homes and businesses.

Meridian operates six hydro stations along the Waitaki Scheme - Waitaki, Aviemore, Benmore, and the Ōhau A, B and C stations. Together, they produce enough electricity for about 832,000 average New Zealand homes each year!
