When a person has an incorrect perception of self, it can create a stronghold that seriously prohibits them from becoming successful, excelling and reaching their full potential in life. Rather than identifying themselves the way God identifies them, they suffer from an identity disorder (crisis) strengthened by a demonic stronghold. This stronghold has them believing the lies of the enemy, rather than the Word of God.
The enemy lies and wants to get us to think our identity is associated with the things we struggle with, what someone else says about us, what we did or what was done to us.
