THE IDOLS - I See The Light
ALBUM You Only Live Twice / I See The Light (7", 45 RPM, Single)(1968)
They were named “The Idols” after a voting between the regulars of the night Club/Restaurant ‘Auto Club’ in Kifissia in 1965.
3-4 names were proposed by the famous singer of that time Mrs. Danae and the one that won was the one proposed by the main singer and leader of the Band , Jo Michat.
Jo Michat cheated a little as he had many followers in the Club that night but he really wanted the name "Είδωλα" (idols in English) to win as he was very much influenced by a French song "L'Idole des jeunes" by Johnny Halliday.
The Band up to then had a lot of changes and in the end they decided that two keyboardists it’s a must.

Notis Lalaitis - Farfisa & electronic organ
Demis Roussos - Bass
Anthony Youlis - Guitar
Nick Tsiloyiannis - Drummer
Jo Michat - Vocals (and Leader)
Within a year in 1966, Demis Roussos left The Idols for another Band called "The mini’s" and his replacement on bass was Manolis Kavouklis.
As Army service in Greece was compulsory many changes occurred in 1967. It was the drummer’s time to go into national service for 27 months.
On the drums came Vasilis Konstantinidis.
Jo Michat also decided that an International solo career was more attractive and left as well.
George Petridis (from the Group Blue Birds) was the new front man/singer of the band.
Within two years the singers of the band were George Petridis or sometimes Lazaros Papageorgiou as Petrides had his ‘moons’ of going or staying with the Band.

In 1971 the last formation of The Idols was:
Vasilis Konstantinidis - drums, vocals
Vasilis Papavassiliou - Bass, leading vocals
Anthony Youlis - Guitar
George Pentzikis - piano, flute, backing vocals
Notis Lalaitis - Hammond, organ, vocals.
In 1972 the band stopped performing while on a tour of Europe, somewhere in Swiss.
There was some reunions in 1990-91 and 1992-97 with live concerts in Athenian Clubs
