Right now it’s IDITAROD ❄️Trail Sled Dog Race time in Alaska, and it always reminds us of home.
We grew up in Alaska, and this time of year always brings back memories of winter, snow on the ground, and sled dogs heading out on the long trail to Nome.
So we decided to sing this song and make a little video for it.
This song was written by Hobo Jim, a true Alaska legend and one of the best-known musicians the state has ever had. His music was part of Alaska life for many years, and it’s always special for us to sing one of his songs.
People sometimes ask us why we keep the name Alaskan Sunnyside Sisters if we don’t live in Alaska anymore. But the truth is, once you’ve lived in Alaska, it stays with you. It becomes part of who you are.
So during Iditarod season we thought we’d share a little music and say hello to everyone up north.
