International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) is on 17 May but feel free to upload this tag at any time! The tag is aiming to build allies through finding shared agenda across other themes regarding social and political agendas which demonstrate inclusion of lgbtqia+ characters within the their stories. Feel free to talk about any books.

No matter how big or small our representation! When we are present we are visible. You may not be able to find a book which covers every family member of the LGBTQIA+ community for the tag that’s ok!

Where possible try to find some diverse representation across our community any include agendas which are relevant to you! I hope by sharing this tag we are able to build greater intersectional relationships and become more present and relevant to a greater number of people agendas.

Finding shared ground and commonalities is what helps build empathy and understanding between people. -

THE PROMPTS OF THE TAG:

1. Indomitable Inspirited- A book with a character that overcomes adversity. Who regardless of where they come from or what external forces work against them. They are able to rise above and overcome because they are irrepressible!

2. Dynamic Divergence- A character who acts differently to the status-quo either in thought, physicality or acts and behaviour

3. Age of Aquarius- The dawn of revolution! Find a book which discusses change. This is about flattening the pyramid and individuals assuming more power. This is about acknowledging a broken system and crucially, not waiting for someone else to fix it. -
4. Healing Hearts- For the stories that create resolve, restore justice and build peace or happiness. Any book that gives you the warm and fuzzies feelings.

5. Open-minded Observer Those stories and character that feature an outsiders or observers. A story where someone has observed their surroundings are drawn their own conclusions about the contexts of how or where they live.

6. Brave Beings Stories of acts of boldness and bravery where either an individual, group or community stepped up their game in some way! The moments of bravery that really stood out to you.

7. International inspirations- A book originating from a country separate from your own that has inspired your imagination in some way- could be anywhere or any about anything.

8. Thoroughly Thrilling- A book which is thrilling in some way. It could be an adventure, fantasy, horror sci-fi or of course a Thriller :-o (Try to highlight where the queer representation if possible!)
