The House of Doors by Tan Twan Eng (I've Read Something #76)

"The House of Doors" was longlisted for the Booker Prize in 2023. It plays in 1910 and 1921 in Penang (today Malaysia) and in South Africa in 1947.
It has three real characters: The British author W.Somerset Maugham and the Chinese politician Sun Yat Seng plus Ethel Proudlock who was on trial for murder in 1911.
