Notes:
- There is no clear date on when the Maori became "fully absorbed" into New Zealand, so I went with the date when active violent resistance stopped in 1881.
- Some sources for Maori land cessions varied slightly in the dates. Others were disputed or "repurchased" at different times. I went with the best dates I could. Maori land cessions were also difficult to find year-by-year after 1870, so I showed a simplified mid-process bordering.
- The shown Maori flags have never been legally official, but were widely used by the Maori themselves as their general flag.
