The Motor Sports Association and the FIA are running an AWESOME competition where you can win the chance to meet F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton at the Italian Grand Prix 2014 in Monza. On top of that there is £2,000 in cash up for grabs for your film and media studies department and an epic driving experience day at Silverstone Circuit, UK. This road safety film competition is designed to highlight key road safety messages among young people. It is backed by the MSA, FIA, Allianz, Sky Sports F1, Silverstone, Autosport and Brake.
The competition calls for an engaging short film (less than 90 seconds) utilising the theme of motor sport to focus on one of the '10 Golden Rules for Safer Motoring' from the FIA's Action for Road Safety:
1. Buckle up
2. Respect the Highway Code 3. Obey the speed limit
4. Check tyre pressures
5. Drive sober
6. Protect children
7. Pay attention
8. Stop when tired
9. Wear a helmet (on two wheels)
10. Be courteous
The films will be judged by a panel of experts including Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula one Team driver Lewis Hamilton and Sky Sports F1 presenters.
The winning teams in each age category will attend the Italian Grand Prix weekend (6/7 September) to receive a £2,000 prize from Lewis Hamilton for their educational
establishment's film or media studies unit, plus a driving experience day at Silverstone, the UK's premier F1 circuit.
Entries must be submitted by the 18th July 2014.
