Maynard James Keenan — the reclusive frontman of Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer — has been hit with a bombshell lawsuit from one of his own business partners in the Thirteen Moons Gin venture. And the allegations are not what you'd expect.

Dave Sanclemente, a 22.8% owner and co-manager of the gin company, filed suit on June 6, 2026, in Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. He claims that after he lodged formal complaints in late September and early October 2025 — accusing Maynard of conduct at his other businesses that Sanclemente believed to be illegal — he was systematically frozen out of the company just one month later.
